Planning a personalized marriage proposal is not limited by budget but it does take intentionality and time to create. As you prepare to get down on one knee, here are 6 things to keep in mind.
Dress for the Occasion
As much as possible, find a way to ensure that your partner gets dressed for the occasion. She’ll enjoy the moment more if she feels prepared.
Don’t ruin the surprise
Throw her off with a believable cover story. Plan around an event she’d already be attending or wouldn’t question.
Co-ordinate with your photographer
If possible discuss your proposal photographer beforehand to determine the best standing position so that they’d capture the moment perfectly.
Include some personal elements
Incorporate 2-3 elements that’s personal to your relationship into the decor to make the moment extra special.
Propose before Dinner
It’s about timing, if you’re planning to include a celebratory dinner, propose first then relax and enjoy dinner. This ensures that she’ll feel her best (no after dinner bloat), the decor would look pristine and you won’t be rushing to meet your other appointment.
Consider your surroundings
When choosing the perfect location, be mindful of your partner’s personality. Would she prefer to be surrounded by family and friends or would she prefer an intimate and private moment? Would she prefer a private location or would she be ok with strangers passing by?
