Imagine strolling through La Vega Estate and taking cute pictures, on a casual date with the love of your life, only to stumble upon the biggest surprise of your life! Well, that’s exactly what happened to Aniera! Kevon and Aniera has what I’d describe as a Hallmark-Perfect relationship. You know how you watch those Hallmark Christmas Movies and everything just seems to work perfectly to allow the best friend main characters to fall in love. Well, yeah that’s Kevon and Aniera. Romantic right? And Kevon’s marriage proposal to Aniera at La Vega Estate, did not disappoint.
It had been quite a while since we’d been to La Vega Estate but it was as lush and serene as we remembered. The leaves on the trees were in an array of colours from lush green to the crisp brown, a cool breeze swept through the park and rays of sunlight beamed through the trees and glistened over the lake while birds sang in the distance. It was the perfect location for a picnic proposal in Trinidad and Tobago! Read on to learn exactly how Kevon pulled off this dream proposal.
A Saturdate Proposal
Kevon knew that Aniera loved plants and being in nature. In fact, one of their dates involved shopping for plants at La Vega Estate, way back in 2021. With this in mind and her general love for nature, getting her to La Vega would be easy.
A Saturdate Detour
Flash forward to 2023 and when he suggested they make a fun detour from their regularly planned Saturday date and head to La Vega, Aniera didn’t suspect a thing. They were having a plant sale after-all!
He then suggested they head into the nature park for a stroll. Oblivious to it all, as they strolled, Aniera focused on taking cute selfies with gorgeous nature backdrop while Kevon subtly worked his way toward the proposal spot.
The First Thing She Saw
As they drew closer to the proposal setup, the first thing Aniera spotted were the “MARRY ME” letters and the tears came.
Hand in hand, Kevon led Aniera down the floral pathway. As he stopped in front of the beautiful picnic setup, he delivered his marriage proposal speech. A speech that made her laugh through the tears.
The Kneel
Then he got down on one knee, opened the cutest little box and popped the question. And I think you can guess what happened next.
The Yes
Without a doubt, Aniera said Yes! On hand to capture the surprise and elation of the moment was the talented Alan Charles aka the trini_surfer. After the yes, the couple celebrated with their photoshoot and then settled into their romantic picnic.
All in all it was an amazing day as Kevon was able to pull of the perfect surprise proposal: the picnic she always dreamed of, a beautiful location and a proposal photographer that she loved.
