4 Things to Keep in Mind While Proposing During Christmas

There’s no denying it, Christmas time in Trinidad and Tobago is festive and fun.  But dealing with the preparations at home, dinner parties and a proposal can be too much and you can find yourself overwhelmed and not enjoying the planning process as much as you thought you would. So if you’re planning on proposing during Christmas (or know someone who might need a few tips!), here are some things you might want to keep in mind.

4 Things Every Gentleman should keep in mind while proposing during Christmas.

1. Keep it Intimate

Unless you’re 1000% certain your girlfriend would love to have family involved, opt for an intimate proposal.  Nothing is worse than your fiancée-to-be being caught off guard in the wrong way.

2. Propose before or after Christmas Day

You want your engagement day to be your special day. Since Christmas Day is a public holiday that isn’t going to be as sentimental  as picking a different date. The date you choose will become your special day to celebrate. If she loves the Christmas season and clears her calendar for those romantic Hallmark Christmas Movies, consider proposing on Christmas Eve or a few days leading up to Christmas then you get to celebrate Christmas as a newly engaged couple. Or do like Jonathan did, propose a few days after Christmas so that she’s less suspecting.

3. Plan it Out

Christmas time is peak season for restaurants, venues and vendors so plan it in advance.  You don’t want to have the proposal planned only to be scrambling to find somewhere to have dinner afterward. Instead, be sure to plan a full experience, from top to bottom to ensure a perfect proposal. Our experienced proposal planning team is always willing to help with all the details; an amazing private dinner, fun activities to do and where to take your photos- so feel free to send an email for assistance. No matter what kind of proposal idea you’re planning, make sure you schedule a little time to soak it all in.

4. Don’t Forget to Capture it

Whether you’re planning to  fill a room with a white heart surrounded by white petals to mimic a snowy day or lead her along a candlelit path to a private dinner, you’ll want the moment she says yes, captured.  It’s a moment where your significant other would be truly surprised and excited . There are a lot of tears, laughter, and love that’s pure and precious. It’s a definitely a memory worth preserving, especially since you’ve put a lot of thought into planning.
